This notice explains how the Talkie apps and the usetalkie.com website handle data. The app library and the website use different systems. The statements below identify the system that applies.
Talkie stores your recordings, transcripts, and app library on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, Apple stores the synced copy in your private CloudKit container. Talkie does not operate a server for this synced library.
Some features can send data to a service that you choose. For example, a workflow can use an external model provider or a webhook. Talkie sends data to that service only when you configure and run the feature. The service handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy.
The Talkie website uses Google Analytics. It can collect page visits, referral information, approximate location, device information, and browser information. Google can process this data for Talkie. Do not use the website analytics statement as a statement about the content in your local Talkie library.
If you send feedback or ask for support, we receive the information that you submit. This can include your email address, message, page URL, browser information, and device information. If you subscribe to product email, we receive your email address, use case, referral information, and campaign information. Our email provider processes the address so that we can send the requested messages.
Talkie does not accept payment or activate paid Mac licenses yet. The website describes a planned paid offer. We will update this notice before checkout starts. The update will identify the payment processor and the data used for receipts, tax, fraud prevention, license delivery, and license recovery.
We keep website messages and subscription information only for the related support, product, security, and legal purposes. Service providers can keep data under their own retention rules. No internet service can guarantee complete security.
You can use local Mac dictation without a Talkie account. You can leave iCloud sync off. You can choose whether to configure an external provider. You can also ask us to correct or delete information that you submitted to the website, subject to legal and security requirements.
